Unlimited Rockets finish undefeated at 8-0. Rockets 19 Woburn 7
The Unlimited Rockets team defeated a strong Woburn team 19-7 to go undefeated at 8-0. The victory assures the Rockets a number one or two seed in the playoffs beginning Thursday.
The first half was a battle of field position with the Rocket defense stopping Woburn on multiple occasions. The stout defense was led by Jaheim Nortelus, Lucas “The Diesel” Lorenza, Dan O’Connor and Jonathan Grady. An early stop for a loss by Jay Kajander and Shaun Bekkenhuis on a third down typified the Rocket dominance on the line of scrimmage.
The Rockets broke the stalemate late in the second quarter when Troy Pollock threaded the needle down the middle with a 30 yard laser to Pat Duross to make the score 7-0. The Rockets broke their pattern of running on the drive with two passes to Duross and two others to Dan Dimare. Pollock had plenty of time with the protection of Anthony Masucci, Mason Dion and Steven Needham.
The second half was all Rockets. Lucas Fleming blew up the opposition with several crunching runs on a 70 yard drive capped off by his two yard touchdown. The offensive line led by Trevor Conroy , Anthony Massucci and Mason Dion dominated the line of scrimmage.
The Rockets went right back to the ground on their next possession with strong runs by Dom DeCrescenzo and Jay Kajander. Blocking by Max Ramos, Logan Fortuna and Peter Mirogiannis kept the drive going until Lucas Fleming took a swing pass from Pollock for 20 yards and Dan Dimare punched it in from the 3 yard line to make the score 19-0.
Reading’s defense now played to prevent the big strike. Led by Zack Kenyon, Evan Theis, Adam Diemer, “Awesome” Joe Gilligan , David Lynch and Patrick Dwyer the Rockets assured Woburn burned most of the clock before making the final score 19 – 7.
