Rockets D-Team is Victorious in Acton-Boxborough

ACTON-BOXBOROUGH, MA – Reading D Rockets got their first win on the season this past Sunday with a thrilling victory over Acton Boxborough. Reading has been playing well and on the cusp of victory over last several weeks.

Eliminating turnovers, and playing disciplined defense were in order for Reading, and they got it Sunday. Rockets opened up scoring with Rocco Masciarelli and Braden Nowicki getting first half scores. Nowicki score was perfectly executed by the Rocket offense, on a wide receiver reverse. Rockets got a tremendous wall of blocking from Brady Swanson, Collin Donahue, Aiden Bekkenhuis, Vedant Narayan, Sean Murphy, Zach Galvin, Jordan Whitmer and Quinn Dolan. On the conversion, Rockets ran the same play, this time with QB Masciarelli keeping the ball on a keeper.

Reading led 14-6 at halftime. Second half defense was outstanding, led by big stops from Jason Anderson, Giacomo Iapicca, Carter Learned, Eamon Centrella, as well as Donahue, Masciarelli, and Bekkenhuis.

Reading closed out scoring with Iapicca alertly bouncing on the ball as it was taken into the endzone. Reading finishes their season Sunday 11/1 at home against Wilmington.
