Rockets B-Team Wins a Close One in Chelmsford
CHELMSFORD, MA – The Reading B Rockets got back in the win column with a 17-12 win over the Chelmsford Cougars. The Rockets controlled the ball most of the game with a grinding run attack led by Lucas Fleming and Dan Dimare. The defense was very stingy, led by the backfield play of Troy Pollack, Patrick Harrigan, Jeremy Rosh and Dimare.
Fleming opened the Rocket scoring with an 8 yard run behind blocks from Patrick Duross, Patrick Dwyer and Andrew Fotino to make the score 6-6. Reading soon took the lead 8-6 on a safety by Keith Richmond, aided by an aggressive charge by Shaun Bekkenhuis and Dan O’Connor.
Reading totally dominated the fourth quarter and took the lead on a 20 yard Lucas Fleming run. The hole was opened by David Lynch and Loyal Alexander. After Fleming was hit 5 yards down field he rumbled the rest of the way with what seemed to be the entire Cougar defense on his back.
The scoring was finished on another Rocket Safety. Dan Giunta, and Matt Segalla led the charge against a helpless Cougar quarterback in the end zone.
