Reading Unlimited Cruises Past Wilmington

READING, MA – The Reading A Rockets opened their season with a convincing 34-6 win over the Wilmington Wildcats. The tone of the game was established on the first play from scrimmage when Lucas Fleming sprinted to the end zone for a 54 yard touchdown. Patrick Dwyer, Dillon Lee and Max Ramos provided the blocking to start the season in sensational fashion.

Troy Pollack increased the lead on the Rockets’ next possession with a 40 yard run around the right end. Brendan Fox, Logan Fortuna and Adam Nola opened the way for Pollack on his long touchdown run. Rockets 14 – Wildcats 0.

After Wilmington scored a touchdown to shrink the lead to 14 – 6 the Rockets struck again. After a long drive Lucas Fleming ran 15 yards behind blocks of Dom Decrescenzo and Trevor Conroy to create a halftime lead of 20-6.

In the second half Troy Pollack increased the lead to 27 -6 when he showed his passing ability by connecting with Steven Needham for a 20 yard touchdown pass. Pollack had time to throw with great protection provided by Sean Cronin, Adam Diemer and Pat Duross.

Late in the fourth quarter Anthony Massucci completed the scoring with an 11 yard touchdown run. He ran off the right side sealed off by the blocking of Jonathan Grady and Peter Mirogiannis.
