E team improves to 5-2 against Lawrence!
The Reading Rocket E team improved its record to 5-2 and managed to maintain the same record as the New England Patriots. Reading Rockets E team won its second consecutive game by a score of 31-19.
-Lawrence started the game with a touchdown on the opening drive despite a great touchdown saving touchdown by Ty Nicholas. The Rockets Red Defense made a great stop on the conversion led by D Lineman Ryan Modestino, Jared Frazier, Tate Dolan, and Nick Marrangoni.
-On the next drive, The Rockets got back in the game with an impressive drive with great runs by Chase Williams, Nico Cipriani, and Kobe Johnson. The drive was capped off by a Jet sweep run for a touchdown by Ty Nicholas which marked the first of four touchdown by Ty. Throughout the drive backs received good blocking by both the Black and Red O Lines. Key blocking was led by Chase Gilblair, Nick Marrangoni, Landon Shaughnessy, Nathan Yandle, Will Alberts, Adam Cheverie, Cam Carreiro, and Jake Evans.
-Rockets D held Lawrence to 4 and out on the next drive with a key plays on the D line and by the linebacker crew of Devin Nicholas, Colby Keefe, and Callan Mackey. This drive shifted the momentum of the game.
-On the next drive with solid O line blocking by the Red O Line, Kobe Johnson scored the go ahead touchdown and the Rockets never looked back. Red O line consisted of Jared Frazier, Nick Marrangoni, Tate Dolan, Ryan Modestino, and Jacob Seery. Devin and Ty Nicholas also had key runs in the drive setting up the touchdown.
-Lawrence counted with a 60 yard touchdown by their key player “Number 21” but again the rockets stopped the extra point conversion.
-On the next series the Rockets countered as Ty Nicholas scored his 2nd touchdown by running 65 yards for a touchdown sprung by a key downfield block by Nico Cipriani. Chase Williams ran in the point conversion putting the Rockets up 19-12.
-With a combination of sacks by Jared Frazier and Devin Nicholas the Rockets D stopped Lawrence again and gave the ball back to the Rockets offense.
-Within a few plays Ty Nicholas scored his 3rd touchdown to give the Rockets a commanding lead of 25-12 heading into the half.
-Heading into the second half, the Rockets had an impressive drive with key runs by Devin Nicholas, Tate Dolan, Nico Cipriani topped off by Ty’s 4th touchdown. Throughout the drive the interior O Line blocked well as well as edge blockers including Will and Sam Alberts as well as Dan Fitzgerald. This put the lead to 31-12.
-With the game well in hand the Rockets only allowed one more touchdown leading them to the 31-19 win. In the second half we saw several tackles and a nice fumble recovery by Jared Frazier, we saw a key run and a fumble recovery by Jay Turner, and we even saw a punt by Callan Mackey that netted out more yardage then one of the Patriots punts today. The team practiced well throughout the week and were led throughout the week in practice by the team captains including Dustin Wasserboehr.
-Now its on to Revere for the season finale.
